The Power of Prayer

God created you as a three- dimensional person….body, soul and spirit. He wants you to be healthy in all of these areas.

Every human being has the power of individuality, the power to think and the power to do. The deepest part of our thinking represents our spirit. It is within the deepest inner core where man and woman think, evaluate, understand and choose. It is in this area where you can choose God or spite on His face.

This is the spiritual life where one chooses the important process of character development and where destiny is determined. Thoughts lead to actions. Actions lead to habits. Habits form character. And character establish your destiny.

Who is building your character? What kind of thoughts are you thinking? Are the decisions you are making leading you down the right path?

To become an excellent swimmer, one practices swimming. To be proficient at cycling, one practices cycling. It is the same principle that changes your physical life which will change your spiritual life. To become spiritual healthy, practice spiritual things, such as integrity, honesty, love, joy, patience, goodness, kindness, generosity, humility, forgiveness, self-control and prayer.

Prayer can change the atmosphere of our attitude and surround us with correct thoughts. Through faith in God, we can receive an inner peace and power that brings confidence and joy to our lives.

Prayer is a necessity and a privilege. Prayer is opening our hearts to God like we would to a friend. Our heavenly Father is waiting to pour out on us the fullness of His blessings. It is our privilege to drink as much as we want from His fountain of endless love.

Meditation is the art of concentrating or focusing on several words or single sentences persistently and intensely.

The difference between Christian meditation and Eastern meditation is that Eastern Mediation focuses on emptying the mind, withdrawing from reality and results in a loss of personal identity. While Christian meditation focuses on filling the mind with an awareness of God’s presence, knowing God in reality.

Eastern Mediation recognizes no objective truth where as Christian Mediation recognizes the Word of God as the only source of truth.

Eastern meditation has no goal outside of the experience, whereas the goal of Christian Mediation is a greater love for God and man.
